Swift Response. Skilled Team. Safe Waters.
Fripp Island Sea Rescue (FISR), founded in 1983, is a volunteer-based nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting boaters in distress and promoting safety on the water. Its members donate their time, skills, and equipment to serve the boating community around Fripp Island and the surrounding waterways.
FISR works in close coordination with Beaufort County 911, the Fripp Island Fire Department, South Carolina DNR, the U.S. Coast Guard, and Beaufort Water Search & Rescue. Together, they conduct search, rescue, and training operations to ensure a rapid and effective response to emergencies on the water.
We operate in approximately 90 square miles of water surrounding Fripp Island, South Carolina.
This includes the waters around Fripp Island itself and five neighboring barrier islands.
We are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for boaters in distress.
